I want to start off by sending my thoughts and prayers to any and everyone affected by the tragic attack that happened in Las Vegas. My heart is so broken and confused as to why anyone would do this to another human being – much less hundreds. How can someone find fulfillment in causing so much hurt and pain? I read something a friend posted yesterday and it stuck with me – how can we possibly just move on with our everyday lives and act normal after something like this – as if nothing ever happened? She continued to say how she believes we do this because it is the new normal of the society we live in. We now wake up to such devastating events so frequently that it does not even phase us to stop, mourn and cherish what blessings we have in our life. I’m joining in on her challenge and now challenge each one of you to continue praying, have hope for the community and live your life in such a way that it shines a glimpse of brightness on those who are hurting.
Speaking of tragedies and on to fashion, I bought this Geo Lace skirt to support my city when Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. Rachel Parcell posted that all proceeds of this skirt would go to helping out and rebuilding Houston. I couldn’t resist. At that moment I was still contemplating how I would help and where/what I would donate so I was so excited when she made that choice! I was still stranded in the apartment and couldn’t get out to help or do anything so I was happy I could buy a fashion piece I loved that would help! If you read my post, White After Labor Day, you know I enjoy wearing white year round! This skirt will be one of those picks. This outfit would also be adorable with my pink booties I shared here!
Since it is fall, I paired it with this ruffle sweater. It’s currently sold out but I have linked some other I really like below!
